A Funny Thing Happened Tonight…
Weekly Round-Up
Despite another busy week I have had time to work, write, shave and check out the blogosphere. I must be getting better organised.
Let’s begin with the pictures.
The drawing is from Chicago Spanking and is another in the series flagged up last week. There is an interesting article accompanying the picture which like last week’s offering is unusual in that it features a 1950s bare bottom spanking.
The Spanking Spot also ran the rather comely picture of Pandora from Dreams of Spanking.
The other sporty picture is from All Things Spanking.
Speaking of pictures, Chross has updated his vintage section with some old favourites culled from around the web and Blossom and Thorn have a useful round-up of all those St Patrick’s Day pictures.
London was full of leprechauns and funny green hats at the weekend; the pubs made a killing. I saw the inside of one or two myself.
I asked one guy in a green hat if he was Irish (well duh), but he said no. But he did say he thought his great, great grandfather took a boat ride there once. On that basis I would be a Russian, but I think it may count in New York.
Apparently in some places in the US you can pinch someone who isn’t wearing green on St Paddy’s Day. It’s probably a law or something, but I wouldn’t try it in London though. They have some rather rougher customs for people who pinch them. And that’s just the girls.
Now if only there was a spanking custom…
Meanwhile back in Spankville on Tuesday Bonnie published a list of new spanking blogs on My Bottom Smarts.
In other news Sometimes a Girl Needs a Spanking is full. It seems too many people have been spanked and their revelations have used up the forum capacity. Comments can still be made but previous entries might get archived.
Have no fear, One Hand has a plan. Watch this space of Sometimes a Girl II.

Weekly Round-up
Easter seems to be more about chocolate than spankings, although we can all look forward to this year’s crop of pictures from Central European featuring their spanking customs.
Here are this week’s offerings.
The pictures are from: All Things Spanking, Devlin O’Neil and Spanking Starlets.
If ypu want more then there are some great pervertables in art featured on the Spanking Writers. Also My Bottom Smarts has yet another list of new spanking blogs.
For writing there is a new writer in town; Abigail Armani, whose book Absolute Pleasures will be reviewed here soon.

Weekly Round-up
Nice little collection this week. But before I say more whilst doing my catch-up yesterday I noticed that the Spank Statement had a post about the spoof sauce advertisements the day before one appeared here; perhaps a case of great minds thinking alike.
We have a lot of great pictures this week all taken from various sources. In no particular order: About Spankings, Au Fils des Jours, Less Than Three and Spank Bryan.
If you want some more pictures then Richard Windsor has some great discoveries form stage plays with spankings in them. Also Bonnie at My Bottom Smarts has another list of new blogs to discover.

Weekly Round-Up
Another week another round-up; unfortunately the Taxman cometh and although I have found some time to write, catching up on blogs has been harder. I don’t know who said there is nothing inevitable in life but woodshed time and stepping in dog shit. But it does sound like a variant on the ‘death and taxes’ quote. Maybe we should amend the saying to nothing is inevitable in life except for death, taxes and spankings?
I did notice that Pink is back. Maybe we will get a proper post soon.
Cherry Red has a list of favourite spanking picture posts for those with an insatiable appetite.
The cute F/F OTK picture was taken from the Spanking Blog and the art was found by Devlin O’Neil.
The cute lady showing her bottom (I know a lot of girls who would want one of these) is from Aunt Carla who has a new story to go with it.
Richard Windsor found a very cute, Men are Like Streetcars picture (seen above). He has a million of these.
But my favourite picture of the week is from Dreams of Spanking and features a really cute Edwardian scene.
More next week.

Weekly Round-Up
As I write this up on Friday there is already too much to keep up with so heaven knows (knew?) what the weekend will bring (brought). I may cull my first draft just to keep it down to a dull roar. Don’t you just love weeks like these?
To kick off with a reminder this coming May Day weekend sees the LAM for those who are London-based. Once again I will miss it but have fun and if there are not links here you can visit My Bottom Smarts for another new list of blogs.
We have a bit of a theme this week centred on art and cartoons. The best find being on the Spanking Blog via Pandora of an artist I have never heard of, namely GB Jones who has been called the Canadian female equivalent of Tom of Finland (see the fascist cop picture above).
The one with the butler spanking his mistress tickled me as I know someone who hates that my own butler is never on hand and seems to have 365 days off a year. This, together with others, can be found on Chicago Spanking Review.
The Star Wars themed cartoon is from Chross, who knows what it even means? Well you do obviously, but I don’t. The JP drawing was one from a feature on embarrassment at Blossom and Thorn.
Richard Windsor has discovered yet another 1950s play with a stage spanking. As it is a new one of I have left the glory to him and you can check it out there.
On the story front, Rollin has had a few out recently and I cannot keep up with Lucy Appleby who has another short story collection here.
Hopefully that is enough to be getting on with, have fun and you can never have enough fun (unless you are English or a puritan), but then you can have fun being disapproving.

Weekly Round-Up
It’s the May Day Bank Holiday weekend, the sun is out and the sky is blue.
This week Richard Windsor some other great finds; the first picture above just being one of them.
Other pictures are from Pixie on Devlin O’Neil, an alfresco from Season and Michael, Pandora via About Spankings and comic strip from Beauty and the Birch.
Have a great Holiday (where that applies) and if you are at work today those of us who aren’t will be thinking of you.

Weekly Round-Up
I know I am late with this but I have been trogging around streets and running for trains to business meetings; and this on top of a busy weekend.
Before we kick off, did you notice that Cutiepie seems to have gone? This is somewhat worrying since it is the first instance I know of where WordPress have taken down a spanking bog without warning. [update - still not sure what happened - but it is now back with a restart and restored to links on the right]
Bonnie has another list of new blogs to soften this blow and Rollin has a free story to download.
Season and Michael who are celebrating Batman’s Birthday, there are plenty of Batman spanking pictures there.
Beauty and the Birch have a cute clip from the perils of getting caught by the Dean
Stan has a French cartoon feature on the spanking version of Cinderella. Ironically it is probably nearer to the original than the Disney version.
If you want more news then Cherry Red has an even bigger round-up.

Weekly Round-Up
Last week I prematurely reported on the demise of Cutie Pie. Still not sure what exactly happened, but it is back, albeit having to start again. The picture above of Pandora from Spanking Brats shoot was taken from there.
Season and Michael have been to England and have visited the home of Royal Navy at Portsmouth and its flagship the HMS Victory. Cue an always welcome kissing the gunner’s daughter rehash complete with picture previously published here as seen above top.
The other two pictures were taken from About Spankings and Cherry Red.
Chicago Spanking Review has a short montage movie of DC Comic spankings. Incidentally it mentions the inclusion of the only two know war time comic spankings. I assume they mean DC comic spankings as neither depicted is the classic Jane spanking picture from the British Daily Mirror.
That’s all for this week folks.
On Friday I received a lovely email from Linda which with her permission I shall be publishing later this week, also this week, more Magic and a spanking short.

Weekly Round-up
How is everyone on this fine (very) Bank Holiday Monday? Two bank holidays in one month; doesn’t anyone in the UK work on Monday anymore?
Summer is just around the corner and in London it finally looks like it.
This week we have a cartoon from Stan, a cheeky picture from Devlin O’Neil, Brandi spanked on About Spankings and a rather comely young lady from All Things Spanking.
Next Sunday is the London Alternative Market.
Blossom and Thorn have a new Book Club.
For new blogs visit My Bottom Smarts.
And if you want more news check out Cherry Red.

Story reviews
I received a decent email from Paul D last week who offered his own review of some of my recent publications. It is nice to be appreciated, especially when someone parts with some money.
Hot on the heels of this mail, came a very nice review of the Russell Corner over at Blossom and Thorn. Thanks to them for their kind words. You can read the review here.
Paul’s comments came in this letter:
Hallo Damian,
I have just finished a reading fest of DJ Black.
The Academy. *****
The Life and Times of Rachel Bannerman. *****
I’m not by any means saying that ‘The Lanark Island Herald’ is badly written. In my opinion it feels somewhat truncated, two or three chapters of Mary’s experience as “part of the family”, would have rounded it off nicely.
This novella is only three stars, by your own high standards.
I loved ‘The Academy’, it appealed to my testosterone driven youth; a dystopia/utopia where woman outnumber men 4/5 to 1, wow a teenagers dream. Winking smile
It is very well crafted with a few interesting plot twists to keep me on my toes; I particularly liked the scene between Julia and her Grandpa, and the one where Candy was rejected by her not very nice boss. I also enjoyed Felix, very much.
“The Life and Times of Rachel Bannerman,” a cowboy story with plenty of attitude, not to mention a full crop of bare bums very well spanked.
What’s not to love about hoity-toity Eastern girls learning the ropes via their bottoms, John Wayne certainly advocated this system. Rachel’s last thought was very telling.
Finally, the eroticism was not overt, though there was most definitely an undercurrent, in all of these, in my opinion, just as it should be.
Best regards,
Paul.
Incidentally the one book not reviewed above, Lizzie Baines, is apparently outselling the others – especially in the US where the publisher tells me it is housewife’s choice.
Thanks Paul, Season and Michael for your words.

Weekly Round-Up
Well it is summer (looks expectantly out of the window) the sun is there (somewhere above the clouds) and the birds are singing. So what does the first round-up of the season bring and what can we expect this coming week?
There is more trouble with witches in Magic and the Spankmanship story is unfolding.
Last week other blogs were active. Yahoo buying Tumblr has some peeps concerned and the formerly open blog site maybe ‘cleaning’ up its act. So maybe some blogs will disappear, but don’t panic just yet.
Elsewhere we kick off with a plug for Rollin who has recently published the Mills Governess on Blushing Books. I have flagged Rollin Hand many times before and he has quite a back catalogue.
On the picture front, above we have Dreams of Spanking, a My Spanking Roommate plug on Cutie Pie, Dallas Spanking Dazey rains via the Spanking Spot and if you want more Cherry Red has a list.

Weekly Round-up
Short but sweet this week, but Bonnie has a long list of new spanking blogs on My Bottom Smarts so you can do your own searching or not.
The pictures are from Cutie Pie, About Spankings and the super hero cartoon is from Chicago Spanking Review, which also has a Wolverine cartoon this week. The line drawing is from a relatively new blog Spanking Art and is one I have not seen before.
Finally he ever productive Rollin has another e-book on sale if you like women’s prisons stories.

Weekly Round-Up
So much to report on I may flake out halfway through, so here goes.
The pictures are from: Devlin, All Things Spanking, Aunt Carla, and Blossom & Thorn who have many great Superman spanking pictures.
Rollin is plugging a competition – I don’t quite get it actually, but that is just me. The details are here if you want to take part.
Hermione has a book excerpt from Ellen’s Story I have read and also have a copy of.
Lucy Appleby has a new story out.
There are also some new blogs to be found on My Bottom Smarts.
Cherry Red has a list rather like this one of more blog posts to check out.
Chross has a 1960s TV spanking from Death Valley Days the Taming of Trudy Bell.

Look Back in Wonder
Last Saturday and almost unnoticed this blog published its 1,000th post. A quick calculation suggests that there have been around two million words and almost seven million visits.
Since I had nothing better to post I thought I would pause to consider that for a moment.
Above a few pictures previous published here.

Weekly Round-Up
Ouch such a lot this week and not all good unfortunately.
Finally got to the bottom of why Crimson and Black bit the dust. A notice to desist arrived two months late. Tumblr are better at taking down blogs than they are asking blog owners to make changes it seems.
Furthermore the complainant was by the same guy who is responsible for other blogs coming down. A former owner of a Tumblr that was deleted for using images he wasn’t entitled to. Pot and kettle anyone, or more appropriately glass houses methinks. Apparently this guy is a professional who does not get the Internet age and has been at war with the Spanking Community for at least a decade now.
Any and all images can be taken down by request in these scenarios. But surely a free plug for a professional site is worth more to them. Not to mention the added good will. But the old school brigade have bought into the industry myth that a copied image is a lost sale. The truth is there is no linear relationship and in an age of amateur enthusiast in all walks of life you have to speculate to accumulate. If anyone thinks that shrinking the market will bring more sales then they are crazy.
Anyway I have taken the unusual position of adding a Tumblr to the blogroll so if you want to know more go to Plector.
Too much goes into setting-up and running these things to do it all again in such a vulnerable and unstable environment. So there are no plans for a revival.
Even the professionals have been under attack. It seems that Pandora’s billing company thinks her movies are too harsh. They also don’t like sword fights. Presumably they would also forgo the revenues generated by A Game of Thrones on the same basis.
To counter this challenge to her art she has let capitalism take a back seat and published the ‘racier’ material on a new site. Check it out at Darker Dreams.
So on to more happier news.
Beauty and the Birch are celebrating one million page views. Congratulations.
Even more impressively Able’s Spanking Writers has just published his 2,500th post. To put that into context you will remember that A Voice just touched down with just a 1,000. Congratulations to him too.
Apparently Saturday was No Panty Day, this is according to 1001 Spanking Fantasies. Maybe it was just one of theirs. Why does no one tell me these things?
Rollin has decided to publish a work in progress as an experiment. In other words he is publishing stories in parts before it is completed as on this blog. I find the pressure makes me work, but the commitment can be terrifying. Good luck Rollin.
Lucy Appleby (Abigail Armani) has another book out, The Castle.
My Bottom Smarts has another list of spanking blogs.
Chross has a great little Sorority Video.
The pictures above are from Cutiepie, All Things Spanking, Chicago Spanking Review, the Spanking Spot and Plector.
There was going to be a round-up of CDD stories, but instead there will be a post later this week.

Weekly Round-Up
The spanking blog war is still ramping it up it seems. The main targets seem to be monetised blogs or blogs promoting pay-sites. Some will be able to adjust; others are having their rasion d’etre undermined. Also I noticed that Warmglow has bitten the dust without explanation. That as far as I knew was the often vanilla and largely random insights of an individual with fairly modest and un-graphic illustrations. It is hard to see how this fitted the profile of a monetised blog or pornographic site.
Many blogs are moving host and going semi-pro to remain amateur (which is, shall we say, interesting). That is people are paying out for pro-sites and domains in order to reduce scrutiny. That means people are being generous with their money and not just their time.
A couple of concerned people have asked what they can do to help. Well probably very little but batten down the hatches and see who survives. Although you might buy e-books where sold from people running such blogs to help cover the costs. But that is up to you.
You can read more at the Spanking Blog and All Things Spanking.
It is not all doom and gloom. Only this week a new blog has been added to the blog roll. Acknowledging Imperfection is the exploration of TTTWD by a 20-something relative newcomer Kia.
She is not only new blogger. Bonnie has another list at My Bottom Smarts.
The pictures above are from All Things Spanking, Devlin O’Neil, Blossom & Thorn and Less Than Three.

Weekly Round-Up
As I write it is hot. Why can’t we take the cool spring and mix it up with this summer and have it sunny and warm? At least the warm weather is an excuse to spend a Saturday on a pub jetty in the Pool of London while the waves crash under ones feet.
The beer was cool and the wine chilled, so we kicked back with a new fellow blogger and an old blog reader. One wonders what the other patrons made of our conversation.
Speaking of things getting hot; several more blogs have bitten the dust due to the current attack on the spanking community. Recently the successful More Than Hurts Me has reinvented itself as The Penitents.
In response to increased pressure from hosting comapnies I have deleted or edited a number of comments and I know that has offended one or two people. Just to give everyone the heads up – almost anything that comments on 18+ female spankees is cool. But remember robots are watching – so certain words can alarm their master’s in a search troll; these days ‘beware the troll’ is very appropriate advice. It is just a question of battening down the hatches until the storm passes. So let’s not have anything that involves under 18-year-olds (even our younger selves) and not wishing to censor anyone but consecutive long posts that are completely off topic run the risk of unbalancing discussion.
Just to complicate things further, some posts seemed to auto delete when I hold them for editing – hence the appearance and disappearance of some comments. It has even dumped one of my own in this way. It must be the heat.
On to more blogs: the pictures above are from Cutie Pie, Spank Bryan, Beauty and the Birch, the Penitents and Hermione, where you are invited to supply a caption.
For stories: Rollin has the Menace from Mongo and Kia has a short over at Acknowledging Imperfection.

Seven odd million or some such amount
Some time today this blog will have been visited 7 million times. the exact number of unique visitors is not recorded by my stats but even allowing for multiple home page visits the average visitor spends several minutes looking at two and half pages each visit. I guesstimate that there are around 10,000 regular readers of this blog and perhaps that many again who do not come back or only occasionally check in. Or put it another way, each post on this blog has been read an average of 7,000 times.
I don’t know where that puts A Voice in the Corner in the popularity stakes as set against other blogs, upper middle would be my guess. If that is so, then multiply that by the number of other blogs out there and you have some idea that you are not alone.
So thank you to all readers for making this project work. meanwhile here are some pictures.

Weekly Round-up
It is hard to say whether the spate of closures has abated. More blogs do seem to turn-up missing (and there it was – gone!), but it could just be that these are victims from two weeks ago and a response to the first round of Google closures. Why closed and not just finished? Well generally bloggers don’t take their work down and just fade out. These MIA blogs have been taken down the hard way. The missing blogs are mostly at least semi-monetised or picture blogs from Tumblr that are either hard core or have run afoul of copyright issues.
Nevertheless gentle reader, none of this has dissuaded new blogs from starting up; as is evident from My Bottom Smarts’ latest list.
Nor is it all doom and gloom elsewhere. Recently there have been several blogs celebrating publishing landmarks, as you may have noticed A Voice in the Corner just hit seven million. Stan over at Au Fils des Jours, which has been going almost twice as long as this blog has reached 13 million visits.
On the subject of new blogs, Kia with her blog Acknowledging Imperfection has hit the ground running and is fast cornering the market in short emotionally intense shorts. Check out her story this week.
Blossom and Thorn have a little piece on Spankenfreude, one of their many pictures on this theme is carried above.
Other pictures are from Devlin, All Things Spanking, Aunt Carla and Plector.
